Samsung is putting a full stop to software updates for some notable Galaxy devices. As per Samsung’s software update policies, it is a normal phenomenon for Galaxy devices that are at the prime of their OS update. The same has been noticed recently for devices like Galaxy Note 10 Lite, Galaxy S10 Lite, Galaxy A71 & Galaxy A02.
Samsung is committed to its users, extending its software update policy so that users can enjoy an updated mobile experience. The company announced three generations of OS updates for its selected devices back in August 2020. Two years later, the company changed the policy to four generations of OS updates, including five years of Security updates for its devices.
Galaxy Note 10 Lite, Galaxy S10 Lite, Galaxy A71 & Galaxy A02 are a few of the listed devices of that time. As per company policy, the software support for these devices is about to end, but its security patches are being available. However, recent development says no more updates are available for these devices.
Being committed to its users, the company releases information on security updates & Firmware updates in their official security bulletins. Samsung addresses the vulnerabilities at Critical, High & Moderate levels. Recently, the company released the details of March Security patches. Similarly, the company shares the security update scope on a Monthly, Quarterly, and Bi-annual basis for its models.
The above news was confirmed by Samsung’s official security bulletins when these devices were removed from the update list. Therefore, the phones used all its update gems, and the current version is the last. The discontinuation also ended the support of all the Galaxy S10 & Galaxy Note 10 lineups. However, the Galaxy A71 5G variant & Galaxy A02 is still making a presence in the list among the models for biannual security updates. This indicates the devices will last one more year longer to receive security patches.
Overall, Galaxy S10 Lite & Note 10 Lite serve their purpose of being a decent phone of those days. Naturally, devices are being retired from regular OS and Security updates. That’s all for the day; keep following Saminsderย for the latest developments regarding Samsung.
