Samsung has a widely successful budget lineup comprising the M and F series for emerging markets like India and Mexico.
These lineups deliver phones that are usually better value propositions and better catered to the target markets than the Galaxy A series. However, they do come with some compromises over their A series counterparts, such as an all-plastic build.
These two lineups are also the brand’s answer to the dominance of their Chinese competitors like Vivo, Xiaomi, OPPO, and Transsion in the budget and lower-midrange smartphone market (under $400).
A new leak details the next phone in the M series lineup, the Galaxy M35. The Google Play Console listing of the phone was recently uploaded, which revealed the final design of the phone.
The new Galaxy M35 seems to follow the same rear design language as every recent Samsung phone since mid-2023, with the three camera sensors arranged vertically. The rear panel, however, is different from its counterpart, Galaxy A35, as it seems to have a different texture and is curved from the edges (the A35’s rear panel is textureless and completely flat).
We also get to see the display of the M35, with the thick bezels looking similar to the Galaxy A35. The front of the phone looks disappointingly ugly, considering that many phones, even in the budget segment, now carry drastically thinner bezels.
Expect the rear panel to be a plastic back, similar to every other M series phone, and not a glass back (unlike the Galaxy A35).
The expected specs of the Galaxy M35 are as follows:
- Exynos 1380 chipset
- 6 GB RAM and 8 GB RAM options (LPDDR4X type) with 128 GB storage (UFS 2.2 type)
- 50 MP primary camera (with OIS), 8 MP Ultrawide, 13 MP selfies
- 6000 mAh battery with 25W wired charging
- One UI 6.1 based on Android 14 (it won’t have Galaxy AI features)
- Side-mounted fingerprint scanner
- The addition of Stereo speakers and NFC is unconfirmed.
Expect the Galaxy M35 to launch in India soon (since it has BIS certification).
Samsung does not usually sell the M series in the United States, so it is unlikely that the Galaxy M35 will launch there. However, the company could always surprise us with an unexpected launch in the US.
