The first major software update for the Galaxy S24 series marginally improved the camera performance and fixed the display issue where the screen was not vibrant enough because of a low DCIP3 percentage. It was delayed numerous times because there were a lot of bugs. However, a second update is already out for the S24, just a week after the previous one.
Europe: Revealed by a post from Tarun Vats on X, the March security update is live for the Galaxy S24 series in the European region. It was an unexpected update, and many are wondering whether there are changes to the camera processing with this update. The update obviously brings the March security update to the Galaxy S24, which enhances the safety of user data.
Samsung did not explicitly state anything in the changelog. It mentions generic bug fixes and performance improvements, and they say it might include new features. The update’s size is around 441MB, and we don’t expect any new features with this update.
The build numbers for this update respectively are:
- S928BXXS1AXBG
- S928BOXM1AXBG, and
- S928BXXS1AXBG
There were many bugs with the S24 series at launch, and we hope Samsung fixed the major ones with this update.
US: Owners of the Samsung Galaxy S24 series in the US can rejoice! These devices are receiving the important March 2024 security update. The update is roughly 420MB in size and carries the build version S92xU1UES1AXBG.

Canada: Samsung Galaxy S24 users in Canada can rejoice! The March 2024 security update is here. Check the One UI build version to identify if your phone has received it. Look for S921WVLS1AXBG on your Galaxy S24, S926WVLS1AXBG on your S24 Plus, and S928WVLS1AXBG on your S24 Ultra.
Other regions will get the software update soon. Samsung’s updates depend on your carrier, region, number of sales, and other factors. Not all devices will get the update at the same time, but we expect the update to roll out to most phones within the next two weeks. Samsung’s staged rollout is to avoid bugs and improve stability. Also, carriers sometimes take time to approve an update.
This is on track with Samsung’s promise of monthly security updates for the latest S series phones. The S23 lineup will mostly get the March security patch directly with the One UI 6.1 update, which will add AI features to those phones. We expect that update sometime in May. They’ll get Generative Wallpapers, many AI editing features, the Summarize feature, Note Assistant, and more.
If you want to check whether the update is available for you, open the Software Update section in the Settings app. Hit Download and Install if there’s an available update.
