Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra may sport a big 6.9-inch display

Samsung’s Ultra flagships always get the company’s best hardware, including an incredible camera setup, the built-in S Pen, and a durable titanium-coated frame.

However, the major standout of Samsung’s flagships has always been the displays. The Samsung M13 OLED panel used on the Galaxy S24 Ultra outclasses all its competitors regarding color accuracy, real-life brightness, and power efficiency.

For the generations since 2021’s Galaxy S21 Ultra, the Ultra phones have sported 6.8-inch OLED displays with improvements in brightness, color accuracy, power efficiency, and LTPO technology.

However, the Galaxy S25 Ultra could finally increase the display size to 6.9-inch, as per a source online (via @negativeonehero on X/Twitter).

S25 Ultra 6.9-inch

Ice Universe is said to have confirmed this development in an alleged post on the Chinese micro-blogging site Weibo as per a translated screenshot (via @negativeonehero on X/Twitter).

If accurate, this makes the Galaxy S25 Ultra the first Samsung flagship to have a 6.9-inch display since the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra from August 2020, which marked the end of the Note series.

Even the Galaxy S20 Ultra from early 2020 had a 6.9-inch display, so Samsung is effectively bringing back that display size next year, but with a flat panel instead of the curved panels in the past.

The Galaxy S25 Ultra is expected to be the most radical change to Samsung’s flagships in a long time, with rumors already hinting at an entirely new design, a new custom Exynos “dream chip” expected to be fabricated on Samsung Foundry’s second-generation 3 nm process, and upgraded cameras.
