Galaxy S25 Ultra’s body rumored to get rounded corners

Samsung is planning to announce the new foldables (Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Z Fold 6) and Galaxy Ring, alongside the new Galaxy Watch 7, the Galaxy Buds 3 and Buds 3 Pro, and the Galaxy Watch Ultra, at next month’s Galaxy Unpacked event.

However, it seems that at the same time, the company is working hard on developing the next generation of its S series flagships, the Galaxy S25 series, and there are already a ton of leaks and rumors on the internet about Samsung’s next big launch.

According to the reputed leaker Ice Universe (via @UniverseIce on X/Twitter), it seems that the Galaxy S25 Ultra could bring a major redesign of the internal chassis and the Titanium-coated side frame, with the result being that the Galaxy S25 Ultra would finally bring back rounded corners, enabling a more comfortable in-hand experience.

The last Galaxy Ultra phone to have a truly smooth, rounded corner design was the Galaxy S21 Ultra, and many users have long wanted this design identity to make a comeback. According to Ice Universe, the Galaxy S25 Ultra will have a rounded design similar to the Note 7.

Galaxy S25 Ultra is as round as Galaxy Note7

The new Galaxy S24 Ultra’s frame seems to have sharp edges, which seem to be a bit too sharp for many people, including Ice Universe himself. However, many users have faced the same issue with their S24 Ultra’s, with the sharp edges not being as comfortable to grip as the rounded ones.

Even for me, I have held and used the S24 Ultra a few times personally, and while I find the design and CMF to be great, I just hate those flat edges: they dig into my palm a bit too deeply. Hence, this is one design change that I truly appreciate, and hope that it pans out for the final model.

Fans of the S Pen need not worry about this change, as the leaker confirmed in a reply within the source post that despite the new rounded edges for the frame, it would continue to retain the S Pen, claiming that it is a core differentiating feature for Samsung within its competitors and so it will not be canceled.

Expect the Galaxy S25 Ultra to launch alongside the Galaxy S25/S25+ at a Galaxy Unpacked event scheduled to be held sometime in early 2025.
