Will Galaxy AI features remain free after 2025?

Samsung’s Galaxy AI is advancing more than the previous variant in collaboration with Google’s Gemini. As of now, users are using generative AI-oriented features freely on their devices. However, reports say Samsung might charge subscription fees for using the Galaxy AI features. This might happen in 2025. If it is, then it’s bad news!

Samsung might keep some of the Galaxy AI features free

However, recent leaks from a tipster @PandaFlashPro claimed the company will keep most of the Galaxy AI features uncharged. Most of the generative AI features, like instant slow-mo, writing tools, photo-assisting tools, etc., can be used without any subscription. However, the tipster does report that the company may charge for using the Advance Gemini AI features.

There are no reports on how far the features will be free or when the users have to take the subscription. Maybe the company will let you use all of them for free for now and will incur charges after the first year.

However, there is no confirmation of whether it will be a one-time subscription or if you need to pay on a monthly or yearly basis. There is no input on the subscription rate either. Paying a huge dollar amount for the device and charging extra for a subscription to use its features is not worth the product. This is somewhat like purchasing a white elephant!

On their last S series launch, the Galaxy S24, the only bump from the previous one is the AI-oriented features. And the recently upgraded Galaxy S25 has become the true AI companion, along with some hardware bumps this year. The company mostly focuses on software upgrades rather than hardware upgrades, which is strategically correct from the company’s profit point of view.

Note that these are not company official reports. However, leaks are mostly close to the official word. If the company is charging for using the AI feature, hopefully, that needs to be worth it. There are concepts of making more advances while using the paid version, but again, all those are rumors whispering in the wind!
