While rugged devices may not be very popular, there is no denying that they come in really handy when the surrounding environment is rather extreme.
And Samsung, like the diverse company it is, has its own line of rugged devices, including smartphones (Galaxy XCover) and tablets (Galaxy Tab Active).
Now, it seems like they are planning to launch new rugged devices of both kinds.
Rugged Samsung Devices Could Arrive in Mid-2025
GalaxyClub, in a new finding, states that Samsung is working on a new model in their rugged Galaxy XCover series, with the model number G766B.
Samsung cycles between regular and Pro model launches every time when it comes to this particular series. For instance, the last generation model was the XCover 7.
Before that, they had the XCover 6 Pro. So it only makes sense that they launch the XCover 8 Pro next, which they apparently might.
There is also a rugged Galaxy Tab Active in the works, as per the same source. For now, it is unclear whether Samsung will launch it as a Galaxy Tab Active 5 or 6 product. Regardless, it will likely be a Pro model.
The Galaxy Tab Active series currently follows the same naming scheme as the Galaxy XCover series. The last model was the Tab Active 5, preceded by the Tab Active 4 Pro, and before that, the Tab Active 3.
Samsung may launch these products sometime around the middle of 2025. Besides that, there is nothing else to know about them. We expect more details to come out as we get closer to that period.
