Samsung has announced its newest mobile processor, the Exynos 1580. It will be featured in the upcoming Galaxy A56 5G smartphone.
The new chipset brings an improvement over the older Exynos 1480, such as faster speed, better graphics, and smarter AI features.
The Exynos 1580 uses the same 4nm EUV FinFET process as its earlier version but includes several important enhancements.
It packs eight CPU cores in a fresh tri-cluster arrangement (1+3+4). It contains one high-performance core (Cortex-A720 core clocked at 2.9GHz), three medium cores (A720 cores running at 2.6GHz), and four power-efficient cores (A520 cores operating at 1.95GHz.).
A major upgrade is the Xclipse 540 graphics processor (GPU) with double Work Group Processors (WGPs). The GPU delivers up to 37% better performance than the previous model.
The Neural Processing Unit (NPU) in Exynos 1580 tackles up to 14.7 trillion tasks per second. The chipset supports Full HD+ screens with refresh rates up to 144Hz.
For photography, it supports cameras up to 200 megapixels and records 4K videos at 60 frames per second.
The SoC provides a 5G network (both sub-6GHz and mmWave) and packs modern wireless technology like Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.4.
With the new Exynos 1580 SoC, users can expect a smoother mobile experience, whether they’re streaming, playing games, or taking pictures.
