Samsung teases its tri-fold phone at the Galaxy Unpacked event

As the 2025 kickoff, Samsung has recently taken another leap with the Galaxy S25 series. The company revealed the S25 trio series with the latest One UI 7 in the unpacked event. The event not only showcases the AI possibilities it has unleashed with the latest series but also hints at the next plans of the company.

Jay Kim (Head of Customer Experience), speaking of multimodel AI to integrate with various devices, hints at the new form-factor “multi-fold” and XR devices along with wearables and smartphones. With Gemini AI, Samsung has plans to move forward to include it in various fields of devices.

In the event, the company showcases the images of such devices as shared below (via Michael Fisher). Including the image of the Tri-fold device is enough to predict the roadmaps of the company. There was not much information shared directly on the Galaxy Tri-fold device, but it’s a catch to go.

tri fold samsung look

As per the previous rumors, the Samsung Triple Fold device may go for the double folding technique, i.e., folding the device twice in an inward direction. This is still not a confirmed report, as the only tri-fold device of Huawei uses different folding techniques.

The company already got a green signal after the patent approval of its tri-fold. However, the recent event hints the device could be released later in 2025. Most likely the third quarter of 2025, alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7. Another report suggested that the Galaxy tri-fold could be released in 2026.ย Only time will tell.

In addition to the multi-fold device, the event hints at other upcoming products, such as the Galaxy S25 Edge and Android XR headset. In the speech of Jay Kim, the XR headset was mostly talked about for the inclusion of AI to enhance the virtual reality space through the headset.
