Some Samsung Galaxy phone users who were testing the beta version of One UI 7 ran into trouble while driving. The issue popped up when they tried using Android Auto, a tool that shows maps and directions on a carโs screen. Many rely on Android Auto with Google Maps to get around but after the update, it just wouldnโt work right.
The issue started because of a change in One UI 7 Beta. The update included a setting that blocks the phoneโs USB connection when the phone is locked. Thankfully, a Samsung Beta Moderator gave a simple solution on how users could fix the problem by tweaking a phone setting.
Hereโs how to do it:
- Open the Settings app on your phone.
- Go to Security and Privacy.
- Look for the option that says โBlock USB connections while lockedโ and turn it off.
Once this is done Android Auto should connect to your car again without any issues.
So with just a small tweak, you can get back on the road with maps and directions working as they should. If youโve tried this and Android Auto still isnโt working you can inform the One UI developer team. Galaxy S24 users testing the One UI 7 Beta can report any issues through the Samsung Members app. That way, Samsung would know what they need to fix so that they could improve the software before the final release.
Android Auto is a must-have for most drivers. It makes navigation much easier and a lot safer with clear directions. Samsungโs quick response shows it cares about fixing problems and making sure its users have a smooth experience.
A few days ago, Samsung started rolling out One UI 7 Beta 2 for the Galaxy S24 series. The update is now available in Germany, South Korea, the UK, and the US. It comes with general improvements and fixes including a solution for wireless connection issues. If youโre using Beta 1, you can give Beta 2 a try to see if it fixes the Android Auto problem.
