Over the past four years, Samsung’s FE lineup has gained excellence in distilling flagship features to a more affordable $600 price segment without much compromise.
The Galaxy S23 FE worked wonders with this formula, delivering a flagship-grade Samsung midrange at a current price of just $629, with a proper 3x telephoto lens, a bright OLED panel with 120 Hz refresh rate, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 (or Exynos 2200) chipset, 15W wireless charging, aluminum frame, and IP68 rating. In addition to this, the excellent software support of 4 major OS updates made it an instant hit among Samsung fans and other users alike.
To keep up with this trend, Samsung is planning to bring major upgrades to the upcoming Galaxy S24 FE, and many details of the upcoming smartphone have been revealed in a report by Android Headlines.
The report states that the Galaxy S24 FE will come with the same basic design as the S23 FE, and it will have five colors: blue, green, black, graphite, and yellow. Some of these colors are expected to be exclusive to Samsung’s online store. The new model is expected to have Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection with an aluminum frame.
The cameras will be precisely the same as its predecessor, with a 50-megapixel primary lens, a 12-megapixel Ultrawide, and an 8-megapixel 3x telephoto lens. The primary and telephoto lenses are expected to have optical image stabilization (OIS). The selfie camera is also the same old 10-megapixel sensor as the S23 FE.
The display is expected to be a major upgrade, with the screen size going higher to 6.7 inches. It will still be a Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel with a 120 Hz refresh rate and a new peak brightness figure of 1900 nits. The battery capacity is also expected to slightly increase to 4565 mAh, with the 25W wired charging and 15W wireless charging retained.
The most exciting part is the new chipset, which is expected to be called the Exynos 2400e. We do not know the differences between this and the standard version found in the S24/S24+, but we hope that more details about the differences will emerge soon.
Moreover, Galaxy AI features will also make their way to the S24 FE, including the new Portrait Studio feature seen on the new Galaxy Z Fold 6, which was introduced last month. Circle to Search, Generative Edit, Sketch to Image, and Live Translate will be available as well. Lastly, the phone is expected to boot One UI 6.1.1 based on Android 14 at launch.
This is all we know about the specifications of the Galaxy S24 FE so far, but hopefully, we will get to see a lot more information before the unveiling of the phone, which is expected to take place sometime in Q4 2024.
