Samsung’s A series is the lineup that makes up most of the brand’s sales, and it currently includes the Galaxy A55, A35, A25, A15 and A05.
Out of these phones, the Galaxy A55 did not launch in the United States, which was a disappointment, but the Galaxy A56 is on the way, and new information has been spotted about the Exynos chipset powering this upcoming phone.
According to a result posted on CPU benchmarking website Geekbench, it seems that the upcoming Exynos 1580 chipset could provide raw performance equivalent to a Snapdragon 8 Gen1 from 2022.
It scored 1353 points in Single-Core and 3832 points in Multi-Core on Geekbench v6.2.2, with the listing confirming the model number of the Galaxy A56 as “SM-A566B”.
It also reveals some intricate details about the upcoming midrange Exynos chipset. It has a standard 1+3+4 CPU core configuration, with the four efficiency cores clocked to 1.95 GHz, the three performance cores clocked to 2.60 GHz, and the prime core clocked as high as 2.91 GHz.
The listing also indicates that the base model of the Galaxy A56 will have 8 GB of RAM, which is sadly a lower amount of RAM than some of its competition, but we do hope that there is a higher 12 GB RAM variant available, just like the Galaxy A55.
The Galaxy A56 will be the successor to the successful and best-selling Galaxy A55, and it is expected to carry forward the same design but upgrade some of the specifications.
Also, if this Exynos 1580 lives up to our expectations, we could finally see a Samsung A series phone that isn’t lagging behind in the chipset department, at least compared to some of its competitors, which is always a great thing to see.
