Samsung has recently started rolling out the One UI 6.1 update to many older devices after initially debuting it on the Galaxy S24 series in February 2024.
So far, the much-awaited update has rolled out to the Galaxy S23 series, S22 series, S21 series, Z Fold 5, Z Fold 4, Z Fold 3, Z Flip 5, Z Flip 4 and Z Flip 3. This completes the update rollout for the company’s eligible flagship devices.
Now, it seems the company is focusing on rolling out the One UI 6.1 update for its midrange devices since the Galaxy A54 5G and Galaxy A34 5G, two very popular Samsung mid-rangers, have started receiving the update.
The One UI 6.1 update for the Galaxy A54 and A34 is now live in South Korea, with the software build versions being as follows:
- Galaxy A54 5G: A546SKSU4CXDC/ A546SSKC4CXDC/ A546SKSU4CXD1
- Galaxy A34 5G: A346NKSU5CXD5/ A346NOKR5CXD5/ A346NKOU5CXD3
It is to be noted that these devices are getting only security patches, general user improvements, and bug fixes. No AI features are debuting on any of the company’s midrange and budget devices, so do not expect to see Galaxy AI on A34 and A54 after this update.
This is the same approach that Samsung followed with the newly-released Galaxy A55 5G and Galaxy A35 5G, which ship with a build of One UI 6.1 devoid of any Galaxy AI features. The company wants buyers to pay a premium to get their flagship devices to use the AI features, at least for now.
The update rollout is, as aforementioned, live in South Korea for now but will expand to other regions like the United States, India, and Germany soon enough.
If you are a user eagerly waiting for the One UI 6.1 update, be sure to check & refresh the software update page in the phone’s settings regularly. The update will become available for your device when it arrives in your region.
