Could Samsung Finally Use a MediaTek Chip in the Galaxy S25?

Around the Buzzing rumors of Galaxy S25, most recently, a Korean report suggested MediaTek Chipset could be possible. As we know, its predecessor, the S24 lineup, follows a similar track of dual Application Processor. However, things could change if the yield rate does not exceed the adequate margin.

Following a traditional approach, the company was expected to launch Galaxy S25 Ultra with Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. Whereas the remaining two variants, S25 & S25+, were predicted to have the Exynos 2500 chipset.

However, a recent tweet from tipster @PandaFlashPro confirms that the yield rate of Exynos 2500 is above 40%. It is highly anticipated to improve in August before the final production.

However, for mass production, the Samsung foundry chip should cross the minimal 60% margin of yield rate. Under that circumstance, the company can deliver the combo of Snapdragon and Exynos.

On the other hand, Snapdragon for all variants will be quite costly for users, which is already clear from previous reports. The 4th Gen Snapdragon is expected to hike by 20 to 30 % compared to 8 Gen 3.

New Rumor Suggests MediaTek Chipset for The Upcoming Galaxy S25

In that case, the company has a third option to jump on the Taiwanese MediaTek Setup. As per the  Korean report, the third option is mentioned for the next launch. However, there is no concrete evidence of the Taiwanese AP variant being used on S25.

The MediaTek Dimensity is a well-performing set up in a few of Samsung’s A series devices. The geekbench test score was also pretty decent for the A series last year.

However, implementing it to S-category devices can mess up its performance. However, the recently leaked Antutu and Geekbench scores show that MediaTek Dimensity 9400 outperformed its predecessor. With this score and a little improvement, 9400 could possibly enter the Galaxy S25 race.

Overall, the Galaxy S25 Series can surprise us with all the options unless Samsung’s Exynos 2500 shows improvement. Apart from that, many more surprises await to be unleashed. A recent leak suggests new camera Upgrades, improved display to 3000nits, and more.
