Samsung Display Plans 10% Increase in OLED Production for 2025

Samsung Display already has more than 50% of the OLED market share. They will increase OLED production in 2025.

This is to capitalize on the growing demand for high end OLED panels in various devices especially in premium segment.

Samsung Display will increase small and mid sized panel production in 2025 by 10%. Analysts expect them to produce 475.6 million small to medium sized OLED panels next year, up from 432.2 million this year.

They will produce 12.5 million IT rigid OLEDs in 2025, 56% increase from this year. Foldable displays, especially for Galaxy Z Fold series, will see even bigger 150% increase, 12.5 million units.

As more companies switch from LCD to OLED, Samsung is ready to supply. But Samsungโ€™s OLED business has competition, especially from Apple.

Apple has been buying OLED panels from LG Display and BOE recently and that will impact Samsungโ€™s sales. So they donโ€™t expect big increase in OLED orders for Appleโ€™s iPhones and iPads.

But Samsungโ€™s OLED supply to Apple will remain the same at 130.2 million units, same as this year.

So, while Samsung Display has big plans for 2025, itโ€™s clear they have challenges too. Weโ€™ll see how this plays out.
