Samsung’s A series is its best-selling series and continues to dominate the best-selling smartphone charts every year. Phones like the Galaxy A05 and A15 are a major hit among users due to the good software experience at a low price.
Now, the company is apparently working on the next generation of these phones, the Galaxy A06 and the Galaxy A16, as spotted by the reliable publication GalaxyClub.
The Galaxy A16 might come in both 4G and 5G variants, just like the current Galaxy A15, but for now, we only know the existence of the 5G version, with the report giving the model number of the Galaxy A16 5G being the SM-A166B.
The Galaxy A06’s existence is also confirmed, with the 4G variant having the model number SM-A065M. The Galaxy A06 is an entry-level phone, so it is not expected to have a 5G variant.
These phones are expected to launch as early as late-2024 or early-2025 to replace their predecessors. They will soon be followed by the Galaxy A26, A36 and A56 thereafter.
To recall, the Samsung Galaxy A15 5G has a 6.5-inch 120 Hz FHD+ AMOLED display, a 5000 mAh battery, a 50 MP primary camera, and 25W wired charging. It is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ chipset and is priced at $199 in the US.
As for the Samsung Galaxy A05, it has a 6.7-inch 60 Hz HD+ PLS LCD, a 5000 mAh battery, a 50 MP primary camera, and 25W wired charging. The MediaTek Helio G85 chipset powers it. It is not sold in the United States, although we hope the Galaxy A06 makes its regional debut in the US.
