Samsung is working on its tri-fold phone to revolutionize the foldable market. It even teased during the Unpacked event earlier this year. Since then, we have heard rumors, including the marketing name Galaxy G Fold and the camera setup (200MP Main + 12MP Ultra Wide + 10MP Telephoto + 10MP Front).
Now, a fresh leak from Korea has revealed its release plan and production details. According to Korean media Etnews via @Jukanlosreve, Samsung will start mass production of its highly anticipated tri-fold smartphone in April 2025. The South Korean giant has reportedly set the initial production volume at around 200,000 units.
Earlier reports tipped that the tri-fold phone might launch in early 2026. However, the ETNews report suggests it could launch alongside other foldable devices, including the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7, which will likely launch in July 2025. It will remain to be seen whether it will be available for purchase shortly after launch or whether we will have to wait a few months.
The report also talks about design and displays. The tri-fold phone could feature a unique inward-folding design with better durability and screen protection. It is expected to have a 9.96-inch main (inner) display and a 6.49-inch outer display.
