Now Brief might come to the Galaxy S23, S24, Z Flip 6, Z Fold 6

As per earlier information, Now Brief was exclusive to the new Galaxy S25 series as a Galaxy AI feature. However, as per a report from SamMobile, the Now brief feature can make its way down to several Samsung models eventually, with the One UI 7 update, and just the S25 series.

According to a report from SammyFans, a Galaxy S24 user could manually enable the feature directly after the One UI 7 Beta 6 update. It no longer requires root access to enable. Now Brief uses a personal data engine, and doesn’t require the latest hardware to run. The feature still remains unusable on the Galaxy S24, even after turning it on. However, Samsung will polish it with the final release.

For the Galaxy S24, the beta builds are Beta 6, Beta 3, and Beta 2. For the Galaxy S23, the Galaxy Z Fold and Flip 6, and also the Tab S10 series, the latest version of the Beta builds is Beta 2. While the Galaxy A55 is also available for the One UI 7 Betas, Samsung didn’t start the program at the time of writing.

Samsung earlier denied that Now Brief will make it to older models, citing hardware requirements. However, this doesn’t seem to be the case since the feature was now spotted running on beta builds of older models. In case the feature doesn’t release with the One UI 7 update on the S23 and other models, a future One UI 7.1 or 7.2 update might bring it.

Now brief and the Now bar are two new AI features introduced with the Galaxy S25 series. They’re presently One UI 7 exclusive. The Now Bar displays live notifications, music, modes, or routines on the lock screen. It gives you updates throughout the day, and you can just swipe on it to change between various information. It’s a bit similar to the Dynamic Island in functionality, though it sits at the bottom of the screen.

Now Brief is a new widget that shows you a lot of useful information at a glance. You can access it from the Edge Panel or directly from the widget. It shows you personalized information based on your lifestyle. The widget can show you the weather, sleep patterns, and energy levels. It can also give you important wallet information, like expiry dates of flight and train tickets, coupons, and events.

It’s also capable of providing personalized reminders of schedules or missed calls. It’s active from the wake time to bedtime, though the cycle time of each card varies.
