A few days ago, a Geekbench listing for the Galaxy A36 sparked up some discussions online. This device is Samsung’s upcoming offering in the mid-range segment.
Fast forward a couple of days, and we already have the design leaks for this smartphone. And quite frankly, this is probably the most interesting development when it comes to Samsung’s smartphone design language in a long while.
Galaxy A36 to Get a Completely New Camera Module Design
Just today, renowned leaker OnLeaks shared his latest renders of the Galaxy A36. The rear side of the rendered model shows a totally new design for the camera module.
It seems like Samsung has ditched the independent camera cutouts. They have instead gone for a unified camera island consisting of a triple camera setup. This new design is somewhat reminiscent of the Galaxy Note 10 series.
Apart from the camera module, the Galaxy A36 has a pretty standard design โ a flat screen, flat rear, and flat sides. The sides do appear to have a matte finish, but we will have to wait for the launch to get confirmation. The area near the volume rocker and the power button also seems to be a bit raised.
The dimensions of the phone, as per OnLeaks, will be 162.6 x 77.9 x 7.4mm. With the Camera bump, the last measurement is around 9.6mm, while the width of the front is 78.4mm, including the raised part near the buttons that we mentioned earlier.
Speaking of the front, the bezels look thin and even on three sides and a bit thicker on the bottom. The selfie camera cutout is also quite small. Besides the USB Type-C port and SIM card tray at the bottom, there is nothing much else to talk about the design of the Galaxy A36.
Other Specifications
The Geekbench listing we mentioned earlier revealed some of the specifications of the Galaxy A36, although not much. The phone is powered by an 8-core processor with 6GB RAM on the tested device.
It comes with Android 15 out of the box. Other than that, we currently do not know much about the device. We do have to mention though, that most of the information here is based on leaks.
While the leaker has a good track record when it comes to accuracy, there is still room for error until there is an official word from Samsung. Anyway, the Galaxy A36 is expected to come early next year, so it is just a short wait before we know things for sure.
