GeekBench Reveals Galaxy A16 5G to Feature Dimensity 6300 SoC

Samsung’s A series is known for its affordability and offers different versions to suit various customers. Last year, the K giant released Galaxy A15 5G and 4G variants. Both are being set up with Mediatek APs.

This year, the Galaxy A16 5G series is on its way as Samsung begins development on the new Galaxy A16 models.

Dominating the midrange market, the A15 5G closely competed with the Chinese budget phones last year. And the recent Geekbench test indicates the company is working ahead to launch the next variant soon.

One of the most reliable sources, MySmartPrice, spotted the A16 5G in the Geekbench database. Along with the core score, much information reveals the next Soc setup plan for the company.

The device tested on Android 14-based UI, and it scored pretty decent numbers of 514 single core and 1464 multicore on board. Previously, Galaxy A15 5G scored more than the recent numbers. However, it’s the initial test, and a lot more needs to be improved before the final launch.

From the CPU information, it is clear the A16 5G is getting the ARMv8 processor with a 2 GHz base frequency. Furthermore, runs on 6GB RAM and 8 core units, out of which 6 Cores are at 2 GHz and 2 Core at 2.40 GHz. This specification indicates a similar chipset, Mediatek DImensity 6300.

Diving back to the earlier version A15, it got the Mediatek Dimesity 6100+ Soc setup for the 5G variant. In addition to that, the 4G variant got the Mediatek Helio G99 chipset. Hence, the A16 is likely to have the MediaTek Again!

Apart from the Processor speculation, there is nothing much to get from the test. So far, there is no news regarding the specification bump for A16. Notably, Galaxy A15 came out of the box with a 6.5-inch AMOLED display, more choice of Storage 128/256 GB & options for 4,6,8 GB RAM.

On the other hand, the battery backup of 5000 mAh supports 25W charging speed. From the camera’s point of view, it has a 50 MP main camera with 5MP Ultra wide-angle camera support and 13 selfie cameras. If the company has no plan to upgrade the specs, the above could probably follow in the next Galaxy A16 device.

Overall, it’s too early to predict all from the test. There is a lot more to come in the upcoming days. Stay tuned with SAMINSIDER!
