Will Galaxy Tab S6 Lite receive One UI 6 (Android 14)?

Update History:

Being a budget-friendly phone, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite has run through several updates since its launch in April 2020. Among its updates, Samsung provides Major Software updates and Security patch updates.

The device initially runs on Android 10 and Samsung’s One UI 2.1 Out of the box. Soon after its launch, the device has gone through various updates from Android 10 to 11 to 12 in over two years.

The Galaxy S6 Lite Tablet received Android 11 with One UI 3.0 in May 2021. With the upgrade, the S6 lite tablet was revamped with notable improvements like- Enhanced Quick Pannel, Improved performances, Improved keyboard, Better permission management, etc.

In February 2022, S6 Lite upgraded to One UI 4.1.1 with Android 12,  which added new features to the device. The firmware update brought features like Private Share, an eye comfort shield, and the ability to remove GPS Location data from photos. Additionally, it receives the Android 12 update in the same month and further supports features like Material You design, adaptive battery, and improved privacy settings.

The Tablet S6 Lite was updated to Android 13 Base on One UI 5.0 on January 2023. This update brought additional features like running up to three apps simultaneously in split screen mode, improved dark mode, and performance enhancements.

• The Galaxy Tab S6 Lite will not receive the One UI 6 update based on Android 14.

Samsung recently committed to its users to extend its Software and security update policy for an additional year. This means a few selected Samsung devices will be able to receive the latest One UI 6 Update. Unfortunately, Galaxy Tab S6 Lite is not on the list.

Samsung began rolling out the One UI 6 stable update based on Android 14 starting on October 30th. In a blog post, the company shared a list of eligible devices set to receive the update. However, the Galaxy Tab S6 series was not mentioned as being included.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite is a decent device that offers quality features. As per the software update policy, it is incompatible with the One UI 6 based on Android 14. Nonetheless, Samsung Tab S6 Lite users can continue to enjoy the features and functionality of their devices with the One UI 5.0.
