Samsung’s few listed Galaxy Tabs will be updated to One UI 6 this year. What is the status of Galaxy Tab A8? Was it included in One UI’s latest update? Earlier this month, in November, the official Samsung Community Manager revealed the roadmap for Europe. The Galaxy Tab A7 Lite is scheduled for the next UI; shockingly, Tab A8 was not listed. This was a huge controversy, latestly taking the internet like a storm.
However, a recent leak in Korea put the dispute to an end. Yes, the Korean roadmap (via Tkyun95) for One UI 6 listed the eligible Galaxy devices, and the good news is that the Galaxy Tab A8 is spotted in the list.
As you can see, the Galaxy Tab A8 was highlighted along with Tab A7 Lite and XCover5. It is scheduled to receive One UI 6 in February 2024 in Korea. Replying to a comment, the tipster mentioned that the schedule was part of a post announced in the Samsung Member App in Korea. Therefore, it confirms that the Galaxy Tab A8 will receive the One UI 6 update based on Android 14.
If we dive into the technical specs of the Tab A8, we can see it has the superior Octa Core Unisoc T618 Processor compared to Tab A7 lite MediaTek Setup. The device performs seamlessly with the Octa Core (2×2.0GHz + 6×2.0GHz). With all these gears, the device was powered by a 7040 mAh battery backup. Regarding display size, Tab A8 has a wide 10.5-inch (1200 x 1920 pixels) LCD. Both devices enter the market with Android 11 and One UI 3.1 on top.
Definitely, Galaxy Tab A8 outperformed the listed Tab A7 Lite in terms of Processor clock speed, architecture, Memory, and GPU. Therefore, we can say Galaxy Tab A8 is well equipped to get the latest Android 14 base One UI 6.
Samsung’s four-year update policy may not have listed both Tabs. However, it seems Samsung had made exceptions for a few Tab devices.
