Samsung’s Galaxy S24 Ultra is among the best overall smartphones that money can buy, with a great display, flagship performance, titanium build, and the included S Pen.
While its cameras are capable of a flagship, the hardware leaves a bit to be desired. While the primary sensor is excellent, the problem is that the other camera sensors have outdated hardware and are pretty lackluster.
This has led to Samsung falling behind its competitors in cameras compared to many competitors, including Vivo X100 Ultra and Xiaomi 14 Ultra. Fortunately, Samsung plans to upgrade the Galaxy S25 Ultra cameras to fix this issue.
According to the reputed tipster Ice Universe on his Weibo account, it is being said that the Galaxy S25 Ultra will get a major camera overhaul to bring it in line with the competition.
The leaker states that the Galaxy S25 Ultra will get an updated quad rear camera setup comprising a 200 MP rear sensor, a 50 MP 5x optical zoom lens, a 50 MP ultrawide lens, and a 50 MP 3x zoom lens.
Here, the main and the 5x optical lenses are expected to be the same as the current Galaxy S24 Ultra, and the ultrawide and 3x lenses will get new 50 MP sensors.
It is speculated that these new sensors could be the same as the 5x lens of the S24 Ultra, which has a 1/2.4″ sensor size. However, it has not been confirmed yet.
This new camera upgrade will make Samsung’s cameras more competitive, and it is also expected to fix the infamous issue of low-light noise seen on the 3x zoom lens. It will help to take the fight to Xiaomi, Honor, OPPO, and Vivo’s camera-focused flagships.
