Galaxy S25 Ultra may cost more than S24 Ultra due to $110 BoM increase

Samsung Galaxy S25 series will go official in January 2025, either in 1st week or by the end of the month. We have already heard details regarding the camera, design, and processor of this upcoming flagship lineup.

Now, a fresh leak talks about its pricing, and it’s not good news for those who are waiting for the Galaxy S25 Ultra. According to tipster Setsuna Digital on Weibo, the bill of materials (BoM) for the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is at least $110 more than that of the Galaxy S24 Ultra. For this reason, it is said that the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s price will increase in some markets.

BoM increase

Interestingly, the tipster said that, for the Chinese market, the S25 Ultra’s price will be similar to its predecessor, the S24 Ultra. Perhaps this could be due to the competition among major OEMs in China.

Hopefully, other markets like the US, Europe, and India will also keep the same pricing as S24 Ultra. A previous report via Jukanlosreve (@Jukanlosreve) gave fans some hope. The report claimed Samsung will not increase the price of the Galaxy S25 series smartphones. This decision could be influenced by Apple’s strategy as they kept the same pricing as the predecessor for the current flagship lineup – the iPhone 16.

Since there are conflicts regarding its pricing in both reports, users are advised to take this information with a pinch of salt. In the coming weeks, we will hear more news about its pricing from trusted sources.
