Galaxy S25 Slim struggles to balance thin design with larger battery capacity

Who would not want to hold on to a lightweight mobile? Companies have been working around and racing to launch the slimmest and most lightweight device to its users. But this is not an easy task!

That’s what a recent report depicts: the unsuccessful attempts of two rivals. Korean giant jumped to the race with Galaxy S25 Slim, whereas Apple took part with its iPhone 17 Slim. But who will win?

As the reports suggest, Samsung has failed to increase battery power using the new, thinnest substrate material, which is a setback to the company’s 6mm thickness plan. On the other hand, Apple will stick to its traditional strategy and not try anything new.

This leads both rivals to sacrifice certain hardware specs to maintain a ratio of Slimness and Performance. As we can see, Samsung dropped its S pen in order to maintain the lightweight design of its Galaxy Z Fold SE. Hence, compromising a few layers of the display with its Slim variant is possible, too.

There is time for the rollout; therefore, it would be too early to speculate on everything. Overall, we can say the Korean giant keeps its battery size intake by sacrificing its hardware. On the other hand, its rival keeps generous specs by not increasing the battery capacity and same display array despite being a high-edge device.

So rest the result of the battle in your hand. If both giants stick to their ideology, as the report suggests, then they will end up in the same junkyards.

Apart from that, the recent leaks confirm that Samsung’s “Slim” model number, SM-S937U, is expected to launch in the first quarter of 2025; thisย Slim device could possibly equipped with the Ultra Camera setup. Moreover, the spread rumors also suggest the Galaxy Slim variant to keep the Exynos Chipset as S24.
