A couple of weeks ago, several users took to various social media platforms, including the community forum, to address a bug issue after the March security update. The issue is most commonly known as the lock screen bug faced by users. Notably, this was faced by users who relied on password lock screen security. The Enter key was missing while entering the password.
One of the Samsung moderators replied to the user, acknowledging the issue and suggesting a valuable solution. According to the moderator, the issue might be caused by the MS SwiftKey Keyboard app. Users setting up Microsoft’s custom keyboard are unfortunately facing the issue in the majority.
Microsoft has released an update of Swiftkey (v9.10.56.18) regarding the issue to make visible the “Enter” key. Interestingly, those who are facing the issue cannot update the app without unlocking the device. This was a serious concern, and solutions to the issues are limited.
Workarounds for Galaxy S25 Series Lock Screen Bug Issue:
The moderator, however, speaks of some workarounds explained below. Note that these workarounds might not work for those who are already stuck on the lock screen. But if you are lucky enough to enable a few settings by default, this could unlock your device.
- Change the input keyboard app: In this method, you need to switch the input keyboard to the Samsung Keyboard app. This could be achieved by tapping the keyboard icon on the lock screen and then trying to enter the password again. However, the option to change the keyboard might not be available if the “Keyboard button on the navigation bar” option was disabled. It could navigate from Settings > General Management > Keyboard list and defaults > Keyboard button on the navigation bar
- Set Auto Rotate on Lockscreen: In this method the basic idea was to rotate the screen to make the “Enter” key visible. To do so, navigate to the quick panel and hold the Auto Rotate (portrait) option and enable the lockscreen option. The only restriction to use this option is when video wallpaper is se.
- Use a USB keyboard: This is the final option suggested by the moderator. Here you need to connect a USB keyboard to enter the passwords. The only drawback is that the option will be restricted once the screen is locked for an hour.
Once you have unlocked the device, update the MS Swiftkey app, which can resolve the issue. In an unfortunate situation, you need to visit a nearby Samsung service center for more solutions.
Overall, if you are about to install the March update on your Galaxy S25 phone, then make sure the above workarounds are set accordingly, or set your device to fingerprint security.
