Galaxy S25 fast charging slow or disconnecting? Here’s what samsung says

Galaxy S25 Ultra and its Plus variant users recently reported fast charging issues with the device. It’s been a month since the S25 series was official, and the device is in the news for multiple issues. For instance, the overheating and battery drain issues, notification not working, etc. These issues seem to be caused by the device, but mostly, the software is to blame.

The recent report of the Super Fast Charging issue was seen in the Samsung community portal, including platforms like X & Reddit. Let’s understand the symptoms of the issue first.

The user reporting the issue used a 45W charger with a 5A cable to charge his S25+ device. As per the report, users complain of not charging at the speedy rate, even though the charging “Super Charging 2.0” shows. Moreover, the charging connects and disconnects often. The 45-watt charger failed to charge at a consistent rate but works fine for the Galaxy S23 & 24.

Users tried turning off the battery protection feature and changing multiple cables or bricks. But the rate is slow compared to normal charging speed. However, the charging works fine while the super-fast charging option is turned off.

What Samsung Officially Replied Regarding the Issue:

Since the charging adapter and cables are working fine for other devices, it indicates the hardware is fine. Therefore, the issue might be with the device software. The Samsung operatives responded to the issue and acknowledged the abnormality while charging with a 5A cable. Additionally, the representative replied, resolving the issue with a future update. Which clearly points out that it’s a software failure.

As a temporary solution, the user could use wireless charging since the issue is related to wired charging. At the same time, the user can also use a 3A charging cable instead of a 5A USB C type.

In the meantime, one of the users tried a few tricks to eliminate the issue. Here are some of the tips that might mitigate the issue:

  • Delete system log files and increase logging: This option can clear out some space and increase the battery consumption capacity. To access, dial code *#9900# in the phone app and select delete dumpstate logcat > OK. Change the debug level disabled from low to HIGH.

  • Clearing the USB settings: This option might be handy as it can clear out the USB connection issue. To perform the task, navigate to Settings>Apps (filter icon to “Your Apps”) Show system apps> OK> UsbSettings> Force Stop> Storage> Clear Data.

More or less, we can only wait for the Galaxy S25 updates to address the issue and try the workarounds in the meantime. Turn off the super-fast charging or use the 3A cable with different low-wattage brick options.
