Samsung’s ultra-slim device, the Galaxy S25 Edge, was officially teased last month. The device is being prepared for an early entry into the market before its rival, Apple.
Now it seems Samsung Electronics’ Mobile Experience (MX) Division is set to launch the Galaxy S25 Edge. The ultra-thin device will be unveiled on the 16th of April, 2025, according to a Korean outlet, SE Daily (via @Jukanlosreve).
Apart from that, the pricing of the S25 Edge is hinted at between the Galaxy S25 base variant and the Ultra model. Therefore, we could speculate the price would be less than $1000.
Reportedly, the S25 Edge will be available for purchase sometime in May, meaning it won’t go on sale shortly after launch. Initially, the company plans to release 40,000 units in three different colors: light blue, black, and silver. This small number of units hints that the device will be released in select markets as an initial launch.
Since the device is an additional variant to the regular Galaxy S25 series, the company strategically plans the production. Moreover, ultra-thin is a new form factor that the company is releasing. Based on customer demand, the production could gradually increase.
As for the S25 Edge specification, it could have a 200 MP rear camera and a 12 MP front-facing camera. With the 1.32 mm display bezel, the device thickness is expected to be either 5.84 mm or 6.4 mm.
A couple of days ago, the device was rumored to be equipped with Qualcomm’s 8-core Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. In addition to that, the device will likely perform in 12 GB of RAM with 512 GB of storage. It will likely be backed by a 3,900 mAh battery.
With the Galaxy S25 Edge, the company is adding diversity to the S series. Reportedly, the device will serve the purpose of being ultra-slim while delivering high-end camera capabilities.
