Dolby Atmos is a very useful feature on Samsung which emulates a real speaker system. It uses software to replicate the space and expansiveness of a real speaker setup.
It makes the sound louder without getting distortion or a loss in quality. It also massively improves the overall spacing and output of the sound. There’s also a gamer-specific tool that enhances the experience.
A lot of people use the feature on a daily basis. Unfortunately, after the One UI 6.1.1, Dolby Atmos isn’t working properly on the Galaxy S23.
As per a compiled report from SamMobile, the sound is rather washed out and tinny and has too much of a treble boost. The overall smooth output with good details is missing. The audio quality is much worse after the update.
The output had more punch earlier, too. Samsung has also officially acknowledged the issue. The issue is probably due to the new Dolby Atmos Library update, which improves the 360 Audio feature.
Some may dislike the new way of tuning. Unfortunately, the latest November security patch hasn’t resolved the issue either. Users have to now wait for the next update, and the ETA is unconfirmed.
Earlier, we reported that Galaxy S24 speakers are disappointing users with low sound and a lack of bass. This also highlights concerns about Samsung’s audio performance across their recent devices.
