Galaxy A71 Update History

Samsung launched the 4G variant of A71 in early 2020, and the 5G variant was launched a few months back in 2020. Both variants were launched with Android 10 base One UI 2.1 skin. Since then, the devices have received regular security updates and major OS upgrades.

Samsung’s three years software update policy is not just a market strategy but also to attract the fan base to the Galaxy world. Luckily, the A71 variant comes under the same list of phones as Samsung’s update policies.

In August 2020, the device received the One UI 2.5 update, which brought features like wireless DeX, Bitmoji support, and improved Samsung keyboard customization.

Soon after, in December 2020, Galaxy A71 started receiving the Android 11-based One UI 3.0 update. This update added features like redesigned User Interface, improved privacy and security, and enhanced performance.

In March 2021, Samsung released the One UI 3,1 update for Galaxy A71. Which included features like Eye Comfort shield, private share, and new camera features.

In early 2022, it received a significant update to the Android 12-based One UI 4. Later in august of the same year, it was further updated to the Android 13-based One UI 5.0.

In addition, the phone received several security patches, with the latest in September 2022 for the 4G Variant. Moreover, in December 2022. the 5G variant of Galaxy A71, further updated the software to UI 5.1.

Galaxy A71 One UI 6 Update Status

Samsung’s track record of the unexpected software update back to back in 2022 for Galaxy A71 brings a chance for further future updates. Note that the device has already utilized all three significant updates promised under Samsung’s three years software update policy.

Currently, Samsung has not officially confirmed anything about the device update.

The Galaxy A71 has performed well in comparison to the latest high-end devices. However, its technical capabilities fall short of the upcoming Android 14-based One UI 6. This is why the possibility of the next further update is also negligible for Galaxy A71.

In conclusion, we can say that Galaxy A71 4G/ 5G will no longer receive further software updates beyond Android 13 UI 5. However, it will continue to receive security-related updates, and bug fixes timely.
