In the context of value for money, the Galaxy A5X lineup truly provides a perfect proposition of performance & price. The next Galaxy A5X midrange phone, the A55, will launch on March 11, 2024. Before its release, a review video surfaced online by a Russian YouTuber/ MadCoby (now removed). The video was in Russian and highlighted all the important specifications of the phone. The device holds all the specifications revealed earlier.
In the video, the phone represents the boxy frame with bumps on the side buttons and the glossy back panels visually popping out the camera setup. As the video suggests, the titanium frame of the A55 is not the same level as the S24 Ultra. However, it’s better to have a metallic frame than plastic, as in A54. Apart from the glossy looks, it almost feels like hands-on the flagship Galaxy S24 Plus.
The phone offers a 6.64-inch AMOLED display with a cutout front-facing camera. The overall resolution is great, with 2340×1080 pixels and a 120 Hz refresh rate like earlier. The phone has a decent vision booster with HDR 10+ support. It also supports a maximum sensitivity of 250 Hz. In the video, the YouTuber is also seen completely immersing the phone underwater, proving the resistivity protection works fine.
Coming to its performance part, the phone runs on Android 14 with the One UI 6.1 skin on top. Its 120 Hz refresh rate does its work. Compared to the earliest variant, a little upgrade with the 8 Core processor is noticed. Exynos 1480 has gone through a game taste. With unsatisfied performance from the processor, the YouTuber runs an Antutu & geek bench test on the phone.

As from the video, the phone is definitely available in 8 / 12 GB RAM variant with 128 /256GB storage support. It got the UFS 3.1 writing speed as a well-deserved 5G phone to tackle the performance issue. Even after the shocking inclusion of 12GB DDR5 RAM as a mid-budget phone, no groundbreaking score is reflected on the board. The Galaxy A55 still shows the range of 1161 in Single-core and settled at 3398 in the Multi-core test. Other tech-savvy tipsters share the geek bench test in X. They secure a general score of 713993 in the Antutu platform. Overall, it gives a smooth and stable performance in that price range.
Reviewing further, the Galaxy A55 is mounted with a triple camera setup of 50MP, 12MP(ultrawide) &ย 5MP (macro). At the same time, the front punchhole camera is 32MP. Overall, the YouTuber rated the camera can click quality images compared to its rivals. Samsung has also not changed much about the phone regarding the Battery section. It’s got the as-usual 25W wired charging speed with 5000 mAh Battery backup.
As a budget-friendly phone, Galaxy A55 5G is firmly welcomed with all the features revealed in the video. See you in the next post; till then, stay tuned with Saminsider!
