Galaxy A36 could get a selfie camera upgrade: report

As we are approaching the end of 2024, we are getting glimpses of how next year’s phones are going to look in the form of leaks and rumors.

Now, we have some camera details of the Galaxy A36, an upcoming Samsung device. The last time we heard about this phone was when its cameraย module redesign was in the talks.

Upgraded Selfie Camera, Main Camera to Stay the Same

In a very recent post, GalaxyClub claimed that the Galaxy A36 could possibly get an upgraded selfie camera. This new camera will be a 12MP sensor, a change from the 13MP one Samsung has been using on the Galaxy A3x smartphones for the past few years.

Although it seems like a downgrade when you just look at the numbers, the actual results are most definitely going to be better. Also, just to make things clear, this new 12MP camera is not the same as the one the Galaxy A56 is bringing next year.

GalaxyClub also states that the main rear camera on the Galaxy A36 will be a 50MP sensor, just like the Galaxy A35. There is no information regarding the macro and ultrawide cameras as of yet.

However, there seems to be a pattern. Samsung is apparently trying to upgrade one part of the camera hardware every year. This year, it was the main sensor. Next year, it is going to be the selfie shooter, as stated above.

This may also apply to the Galaxy A5x smartphones. If this is true, the macro and ultrawide cameras will not see any kind of upgrade in 2025. Nevertheless, this pattern is just a speculation. There is no official word from the company regarding this matter, so take it with a grain of salt.

The tech giant will likely launch the Galaxy A36, along with the Galaxy A56, around March next year. That is if they follow the trend they have set for the launch of Galaxy A3x and Galaxy A5x devices. As for the pricing, not much can be said just yet. We will have to wait and see.
