2025 is surely shaping up to be an exciting year for Samsung smartphones.ย Recently, South Korean news outletย Sedailyย claimed that the tech giant has started mass production of its Exynos 2500 chip.
A Samsung spokesperson denies this claim, but that could just be due to the fact that this is an unreleased product for which the company has given no official word.
Poor Performance of the Exynos 2500, Samsung Still Optimistic About Sales
The Exynos 2500 will apparently power the Galaxy Z Flip 7. Only time will tell how good this decision is going to be. We say that because the yields of the Exynos 2500 do not look promising so far.
Recent reports show that the yields are stuck at 20% for the company’s second-generation 3nm node. The chip also falls behind the Snapdragon 8 Elite and Dimensity 9400 when it comes to CPU performance.
The Xclipse 950 GPU could be impressive, but the Galaxy Z Flip 7 does not particularly target an audience that is looking for heavy graphics performance. Regardless, the Exynos 2500 will play a crucial role in shaping the future of Samsung Foundry. Who knows if they will pull off a miracle with it.
There is a possibility that the Galaxy S25 Slim could feature the Exynos 2500 as well. The other mainstream foldable by Samsung, the Galaxy Z Fold 7, will likely sport the Snapdragon 8 Elite.
Word also has it that the company plans to ship a total of 3.9 million units of its clamshell-type foldable next year. This includes both the standard Galaxy Z Flip 7 and the more affordable Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE.
The latter is said to come with the Exynos 2400, which has more stable results. If the company sticks to the launch pattern it has created for its foldable devices, all of the aforementioned foldables will come out in the third quarter of 2025.
