After struggling with yield rates last year, recent leaks have shown some hope for the K-Giant’s foundry chip, Exynos 2500. The company had to ditch the idea of Exynos 2500 for the Galaxy S25 after the Snapdragon 8 Elite was announced, but finally, it has found a place for the Galaxy Z Flip 7.
The recent leaks came from a familiar tipster, @Jukanlosreve, who has an excellent track record of providing accurate information. The tipster shared the detailed specifications of the Exynos 2500 for the Galaxy Z Flip 7. Let’s break it into pieces!
Samsung’s foundry chip Exynos 2500 details surfaced for Galaxy Z Flip 7
Exynos 2500 Core Information:ย Its CPU will be a deca-core (10-core) SOC, consisting of the core configuration 1+2+5+2. The core configuration speaks a lot about the chip’s performance and energy efficiency. Based on the clock speed, it can be categorized as:
- Major CPU Core for high performances: 3.3GHz ARM Cortex-X925 1core
- Mid-range CPU core for medium-task: 2.75GHz ARM Cortex-A725 2core
- Mid-range CPU core with more power efficiency: 2.36GHz ARM Cortex-A725 5core
- Low-Range CPU core for energy-efficient basic task: 1.8GHz ARM Cortex-A520 2Core
Memory: As the leak suggests, it will get the L3 cache level of 16MB. Adding the dynamic memory of 9.6 Gbps 16-bit Quad-Channel LPDDR5X, the Exynos 2500 would be able to handle demanding tasks like gaming and multitasking in a faster and more efficient manner.
Graphic: As the tipster revealed, it will be getting a 1.3GHz clock speed of Samsung & AMD’s latest Xclipse 950 GPU. It has the RDNA 3.5 base AMD’s GPU architecture with 8WGP,ย which is great for smoothing the gaming experience and improving power efficiency.
Storage: It’s getting the UFS 4.x storage technology, which definitely has a high r/w speed with excellent power efficiency and bandwidth.
ISP: It’s getting the 320MP image signal processor
NPU: The leaks suggest it’s getting 56 TOPS neural processing units, which is a great help for AI-driven tasks.
MFC: It’s getting a multi-format codec supporting 8K decoding at 60 frames per second for video playback and also supporting 8K encoding at 30 frames per second for capturing videos.
