How to enable Photo Ambient Wallpaper on your Samsung phone?

Recently, we shared a report regarding testing a widget for the Lock screen of Samsung phones. It was assumed the feature would be included in One UI 7, but One UI 6.1 has been spotted releasing some early AOD features to add widgets on your lock screen. Android is still lagging, and Samsung has taken a step ahead. But the latest One UI 6.1 takes the internet by storm with the Photo Ambient Wallpaper feature.

Samsung’s One UI 6.1 Brings Immersive Weather Effects Lock Screen Feature:

The K giant unpacked Event launches the Galaxy S24 trio series with One UI 6.1. Along with that, Galaxy AI flourished with the UI Skin. A lot of new features were unleashed with One UI 6.1, and some of them have surfaced online. For instance, the AOD Lock Screen Wallpaper and more. But have you tried the hidden feature “Photo Ambient Wallpaper”? If not, then you need to try it on your Galaxy S24!

In simple words, the feature is similar to a video overlay used in video editing. With the features ON, a weather effect will be created on your Lock screen wallpaper according to your location. Not only that, but you can also see effect changes based on the time of the day. For instance, if you are in a location where snow falls, a similar snowfall effect will appear on your Lock screen wallpaper. The Photo Ambient changes the weather based on the default location in the weather app. However, this is a lab feature; hence, only a few weather conditions will be reflected as overlays. We can expect more dynamic wallpaper effects in the upcoming One UI 7 update.

Now, the question is how to activate the photo ambient wallpaper on the Samsung Galaxy S24.

Here are the steps:

  • Navigate to Settings
  • Go to Advance Features
  • Then, go to Labs and turn on the Photo Ambient Wallpaper Option.
  • Go Back to Settings>> Wallpaper and Style
  • Select Change Wallpapers
  • Then Select Photo Ambient under the creative category section
