With the Android Auto app, users can mirror the features of a smartphone on a car’s dashboard screen. However, some users are unable to connect Android Auto on their newly purchased Galaxy S25 Ultra device. Is it an issue with the device? Let’s find out.
A Galaxy S25 Ultra user has written on a Samsung community forum about having an issue with wired Android Auto. It displays “Connecting to Android Auto Phone” on the car’s infotainment system display. What’s surprising here is that both the phone and the vehicle show that the connection is successful, but in reality, the S25 Ultra won’t connect to the car.
The user further said that he did not face such an issue with the Galaxy S24 Ultra and the same vehicle. Some basic troubleshooting steps, such as clearing the cache on the phone and using different USB ports and new cords, did not work.
Notably, the issue isnโt isolated. Several users have joined the discussion, saying that Android Auto does not connect with cars.
The fix that worked for some
Thankfully, there is a simple workaround for this issue, as mentioned by the user Deja3. You just have to clear the data on the Android Auto app. To do this, you can follow the below steps.
- Open the settings page on your Galaxy S25 Ultra.
- Navigate to apps and then search for Android Auto.
- Force stop the app, then click on storage.
- Select clear data.
Some users have confirmed that this workaround actually works. So clearing the cache alone didnโt work; you have to clear the data also to resolve the issue.
If the abovementioned workaround does not fix the issue, you can follow Samsungโs troubleshooting guide for Android Auto that discusses a couple of steps, including:
- You need to ensure that the car and stereo are compatible with Android Auto.
- Make sure that Android Auto is enabled in the vehicleโs settings.
- Update the vehicleโs infotainment system software.
